Arizona Goes Green

time to go green clock

Arizona goes green, one person at a time, one city at a time, but it is happening.  I read it in the news everyday.  Arizona teachers are going green, Arizona schools are going green and Arizona students are going green.  It's exciting to see happening, and it really is happening.

Tempe and Phoenix can both brag about their LEED certified green buildings and Goodyear is showing off a green school with more on the way.  The seniors in the RV parks are going green and amping up their recycling programs.  Green is being taught in our schools and kids are teaching their parents.  Cities are all joining in to improve their recycle facilities and the utilities are giving large rebates for solar power and energy efficient appliences.

It is exciting to see this all taking place, to see such urgency being place on solar energy and sustainable living.  Sure, it's about time, but it is happening.  If you are looking to go green in Arizona let's get started.

The Arizona Department of Commerce has green jobs page on their site with the latest news on grants and green job opportunities.  If you are looking for employment in one of the fastest growing industries around, think green.

SRP's Power Wise is a section of the Salt River Project web site dealing with power saving with pages like the home energy manager, vampire appliances and power saving tips.  They have a lot of good information and several how-to videos.

APS, the other power company in the Phoenix area is very active in the area of solar power with nice rebate, loan packages and a cool website.  On the renewable energy page they show you how you can decide where a portion of your electric power comes will come from.  Residential users can choose from solar, wind or geothermal.

AZCentral, my favorite place for Arizona new, has a Green Living section full of Green Arizona news.  From teachers training to raising urban chickens, it's all there.

Below we offer you the opportunity to build your own page on this site, a page about something green happening in Arizona.  The more people that know about your club, activity or event the better, so take a minute and post a note about what's happening green in Arizona.
