Be Green In Massachusetts

time to go green clock

Are you aware that it is time to be green in Massachusetts?  It sure is, so we are going to help you get started.  This page is about the wonderful green things that are going on in Massachusetts and how you can be a part of it.  If you can add to this page, please do.  The more opportunities there are for people to get active the more volunteers we will have.

The Massachusetts  Energy and Environmental Affairs department has an amazing web site, well worth every hour you spend there.  Just a few of the topics covered are clean energy technologies, air and water quality, sustainable agriculture and forestry, coastal smart growth, going green, recycling, land conservation and the list goes on and on.  While you are there be sure to sign up for the Green Communities Program, become a part of the solution.

Make use of the Go Green Web Directory to find products, services and info to help you live greener in Massachusetts.  The site is divided into specific areas like South-Shore, Metro-Boston and so on, making it easier to find merchants near you.  The directory will help you find the "green, greener and greenest brands, businesses, products and services in your local area".  You can also read more about living green as well as sign up for their newsletter.

There is a group of folks at the  Massachusetts Avenue Project who truly are making a green difference in the state and with our youth.  Their mission statement is "MAP nurtures the growth of a diverse and equitable community food system to promote local and economic opportunities, access to affordable and nutritious food and social change education".  That's a big mission and I'm sure they would appreciate all the help they can get.

The Renewable Energy Trust has a section on their site called Green Building in Massachusetts.  Here you can learn about different schools, commercial buildings, as well as government buildings that are being built in an eco-friendly, energy conserving and sustainable way.

Take some time and learn how you can be part of the solution, Be Green In Massachusetts.
