The Bank of Missouri has a Go Green Club. Eliminating paper waste is an important part of greening this planet so learning to bank and pay bills online just makes good sense. Many people don’t do it simply because they are afraid of things they do not understand. Online banking and online bill paying can be scary if you have never done it before.
A simple way to start is to have all your checks direct deposited. This saves paper and does not require any internet skills. The bank can also set up certain electronic payments for you such as utilities, loans and many other monthly type bills.
Many companies now have the option of receiving your monthly statement via email or paper copy. If your bank is paying the bill automatically, consider the email version so you can still check it monthly, but save all the unnecessary paper.
The Go Green Club allows you to do direct deposits, internet banking and online bill pay. The Club also offers you interest on checking accounts, a program to put your money to use in your community, a plant a tree program and a free reusable shopping bag.
