Adventure Green Alaska is a voluntary certification program for businesses in the tourist industry. The goal is for participation firms to meet certain standards with regards to economic, environmental and social sustainability issues.
The Sierra Club is active all across the states, including Alaska. The Alaska Chapter works hard to protect the beauty of the last frontier. They also have social goals for Alaska, such as more renewable energy, smart growth of the urban areas and sustainable use of the states resources.
