Going Green In Louisiana

How are you going green in Louisiana? Hopefully you are and will have lots to share with us on the form below. Let us know about all the green events happening in Louisiana. The more you get the word out the more others will join in and participate.

For those of you not involved in raising the awareness of sustainable living we have a few sites listed for you in hopes of getting you in the game and moving forward to make Louisiana a greener state.

Green power is power generated from renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric and biomass. A company called Entergy Louisiana is bringing green power to the state and it's easy to get in on it, just go to the site and learn how. We should all know the more green power we use the less fossil fuels are used to generate electricity, and that's a good thing.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality invites you to be part of the Green Challenge. Take a few minutes, visit the site, a see how you can get involved in this. While you are there, read all the tips for going green in Louisiana. They have put together an excellent list of things to consider for those of you just getting into the idea of going green.

Organic farming is a part of the environmentally friendly practices associated with going green. It is beneficial to you and to your state to seek out farms using sustainable practices in their business. Go Green nola will help you find Louisiana organic farms and hopefully you will find a way to support these folks. The nola site is not just about farms, in fact, it's just about one of the best sustainable living sites I have visited. Have you ever used a carbon calculator? Just takes a few minutes but could easily change you life. This site truly does have it all including an eat local challenge. I'm in on that one, such a green thing to do.
