Have you heard that it is time to go green in Maryland? It really is,
so here are a few ways to get involved. If you already are active why not
spend a moment and share what you are doing. By doing so, maybe another
individual will get motivated, and start helping out.
Smart, Green and Growing is an outstanding resource for Maryland residents wanting to help the state. Here you will learn about preserving the land, revitalizing communities, green jobs, improving the transit system, conserving energy and so much more. This is truly a green site and a great way to get involved.
The Maryland Environmental Design Program site is "dedicated to advancing the application of economically sound and environmentally sensitive building and site-design techniques". This is a place for the local governments, interested citizens and the local business community to come together and get involved.
If you are not familiar with the Maryland Green Power Company maybe you should be. The pay as you save financing page should be reason enough to visit this site. Articles about solar electric, solar water heating, gray water recycling, green jobs and green construction are just a few other reasons to spend some time here.
I say this often, and I will say it again, the best place to focus your green efforts is in the school systems. The Maryland Green Schools and Centers site is the place to start looking into this exiting area of going green.
Hopefully you will spend some time on these sites and hopefully it will make a difference in your life. If so, you are on your way to making the state of Maine a healthier place to live. And we all thank you.
Tell us about your club, activity or event. Where are you, when do you meet, what are you doing green in your community? Do you have a special event coming up? We would like to do our part to help you get the word out.
