The key to a greener Mississippi is you, the residence of Mississippi, each
and every one of you. It's time to go green and your state really needs
you. This page is all about where to get started, where to volunteer your
time and what each individual can do, in your home and in your community.
If you are already there, already of part of the solutions, please help me out.
Take the time to post about what you are doing, what your group is doing, how
are you going green in Mississippi?
It's always nice to see the universities and colleges getting involved in going green and in the community. The University of Mississippi has done that with their site red, blue and green. This is a nice fun site with information about local and school green activities. In the get involved section are pages like Volunteer, Join a Group, Take Action, Stay Connected and Alumni Involvement, so, do you get the idea they would like you to be involved? I think so.
The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality would also like you to get involved. Their Going Green Mississippi site will tell you exactly how to do it. Here you can read the Mississippi Envirothon Handbook, spend quality time with you child on the Kids Page, learn about how you can save money with the Mississippi stimulus and many more wonderful green stuff.
The folks at the Organic Consumers Association are very busy people these days because I think they have done one of these for just about every state. They are all great and so is the Directory of Eco-Friendly Products in Mississippi site. Here you will find all the places to buy organic food, pet supplies, baby products, beauty products health products and so much more. Buying organic and buying local are both ways of going green and helping your local economy. Going green creates better health and a better local economy for all of Mississippi, so find a way to start making a difference.
If you have a project and need some help, let us know, let's all get involved.
Tell us about your club, activity or event. Where are you, when do you meet, what are you doing green in your community? Do you have a special event coming up? We would like to do our part to help you get the word out.
