Green In New Jersey

What are you doing to go green in New Jersey?  If you take the time to post your events and activities others will see it and join in.  Are you looking for ways to get involved and live a sustainable life in New Jersey?  Maybe we can help.

The  Green New Jersey Resource Team is looking for help.  They are a grass roots organization funded by New Jersey's Clean Energy Program.  They focus on energy use awareness and the promoting of CFLs.  If you are really new to this CFLs are compact fluorescent light bulbs, and they use abut ten percent of the energy required to operate standard bulbs.  On this site you can purchase CFLs at reduced prices.  You could join Green Faith and help to distribute these bulbs to church groups.  The Green Market Fundraising group gets schools in the act with fundraisers involving CFLs.  HelpLightNJ is a group of high school students who distribute bulbs to low income families.  Project Porchlight uses volunteers to distribute bulbs door to door and at events.  There is more but you get the idea, they need help so that they can help others.

New Jersey's Green College is making the entire state proud.  They are teaching sustainability and energy awareness to the lucky students that can attend Stockton College.  I love it when schools go green and Stockton has done it big time.  They have a huge commitment to sustainable practices through the use of alternative energy sources and green building.  Visit the site and see their campus projects along with tons of other useful information.

Visit the New Jersey chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council for up to date info about green builders, green jobs and all the latest green news from the local and national governments.
