how? If you are not involved in sustainable issues, maybe it's time to get
in the game, get active and go green. Going green in North Carolina is

NC Green Power is a non profit program promoting the development of renewable energy sources and helping you with cleaner energy choices. Volunteers are needed so pay a visit and see how you can help.
Builders and homeowners alike should have an interest in the NC Healthy Built Homes Program. They say healthy homes are ones where the building materials and processes are selected to reduce pollution and the waste of natural resources during the manufacturing and construction phases. They have sections for home buyers, builders, designers, suppliers, lenders and realtors.
The WNC Green Building site is one of the best green sites I've come across in some time. It includes one of the most important tools a person moving towards a healthier, more sustainable life, must have. That is a directory of green merchants, places to shop where you are assured of buying green products. Another excellent feature of the site is the directory of articles. Just a few of the many titles include this old greener house, a net zero energy home, got storm water runoff?, the first solar farm in WNC and so much more. Enough reading material on this site to keep you coming back for weeks to come.
Going green in North Carolina should start in your home. When you have dealt with your home energy consumption, learned to recycle, reduced the use of toxic chemicals and changed the way you use water, you should then be ready to move out of the home and into your community. Hopefully you will become involved with your local schools, churches or other groups where you can help others life a healthier, more sustainable, energy efficient life.
