Green In Wisconsin

time to go green clock Is it time you joined in the fun and went green in Wisconsin?  It's easy, just get involved.  Everywhere you look groups and organizations are going green.  Schools are going green, more and more businesses are going green, green buildings are going up all over the place and people all over are getting their local groups working on green activities.

Channel 3000 has a section on their site just for going green Wisconsin.  Here you can learn about all the latest green news.  They post national and local green news plus general green tips areas like sealing energy leaks.  A lot of effort is put into keeping you updated with the latest and the best sustainable living and alternative energy news so bookmark it and make use of it.

The Wisconsin Environmental Initiative  site is another useful resource for green living in Wisconsin.  They strive to help businesses profit while still doing what's right for the environment.  Here you can learn about green built homes, green jobs, the travel industry and green as well as current news and updates.

The Energy Fair is held every year in Central Wisconsin.  It is billed as the nations premier energy education event with over 275 exhibitors.  When you add to that over 200 workshops, a clean energy car show and a Green Home Pavilion you have an event not to be missed.  It happens in June so start making plans to attend.  This is a sure way to catch the fever.

Some of the most exciting green advancements are taking place in our schools.  The Wisconsin Green and Healthy Schools Program is a good example of what is happening across the states and what I would love to see more of.  Just check out this mission statement.  "The Wisconsin Green and Healthy Schools program aims to increase the students' knowledge and awareness of Wisconsin's natural resources and the environmental, health, and safety concerns and challenges that face our schools, our communities, and our earth.  The Green and Healthy Schools program will help students develop the necessary skills and expertise to address these challenges, and to foster life-long attitudes, behaviors, and commitments in order to make informed decisions and to encourage students to become active participants in their communities.  Furthermore, by completing the steps of the program schools will discover ways that their individual school can provide a safe, clean, and green school that promotes a productive learning environment and in doing so will help to conserve and protect our valuable natural resources."  Are you looking for a way to contribute and go green in Wisconsin?  Just get this message to as many schools as possible.  Green the state one school at a time, or one student at a time or maybe one teacher at a time.  You get the idea, get the schools involved.

Now you have some easy ways to get active and get green in Wisconsin, now it's up to you.  We hope you will join in and we also hope you will come back here and let us know what you are doing, maybe others will join in.
