Green New Mexico

time to go green clock Are you doing your part to Green New Mexico?  Maybe we can help you get started.  If you are already involved please take the time to let us know what you are doing, we may want to join in and be a part of the solution.

New Mexico is one of my favorite green states.  There is so much going on and their progressive thinking puts them at the forefront of sustainable living.  So let's take a few minutes and discover some starting points for you so you can help green New Mexico.

New Mexico is home to some of the greenest architects and builders in the nation.  Build Green New Mexico  will introduce you to some of the movers and shakers in the green building industry.  You can also learn all about the incentives, tax credits and rebates for green building.   If you are a New Mexico green builder the directory of green suppliers should be of interest to you.

Another site focused on green building is the  New Mexico chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.  Here you will find information about LEED certification, more info about state and federal tax credits, a green building directory and a calendar of events.  There are also sections about local events, workshops, tours and Green Drinks.

Green Zia is an environmental excellence recognition program helping improve businesses environmental impact.  This program supports businesses or organizations that are moving forward toward environmental excellence and economic sustainability.

If you are job hunting, or looking for a career change, the green industries are looking for you.  These will be some of the best employment opportunities for many years to come.  In the  New Mexico Green Job Handbook you will find everything you need to know about finding a green job or a green career in New Mexico.

A site with some real local flavor is  The Green Line, a project by the Santa Fe New Mexican.  If you are not involved, but would really like to be, visit this site.  They have an informative green forum, an events section, a place for green blogs and they are always looking for new members.

Now you have no excuse for not getting involved in a greener New Mexico.  The more active you get, the more you will want to share the buzz, so come on back and tell us what you are doing green in New Mexico.
