Nana is Greening the Planet

by Tim
(Tucson, Arizona)

My mom, known to many as Nana, is trying to save the world all by herself. She is in her eighties and walks stooped over with a cane. Yet, she is a recycling and waist not fool.

At the store, the bagger at the check out will get scolded if they bag the milk, "there is no reason for that" she says "it's wasteful".

Don't remove the lid from a can and try to throw it away in the trash, oh no, it gets set aside until the can is empty and clean, then they go together into the recycle bin.

All of her kitchen storage bags are reusable. No throw away baggies or freezer bags in her kitchen.

Three of her monthly bills can be paid without using stamps, and if done the same day, in a round trip, while going to the grocery store, well you get it. Her trips are well planned out to use the car as little as possible.

I try to explain the bills can be paid online, paperless, but she will have none of that. Her way is fine and as green as she is going to get.
