Choose a 'green' natural sunscreen for your skin

Being an Esthetician I have always been big on using a good Facial Sunscreen every day all year, even on overcast days. I have seen so much sun damage on the face from too much sun exposure. I feel it is a necessity to have sun protection from the harmful aging aspects of the sun.

pretty face We need the sun and the vitamin D it provides, but get that sun exposure on other parts of your body for about 10-20 minutes a day and that will be just about right. However, the face is too easily damaged so it should be paramount to have a face protector in your daily body care regime all year around.

If you are going to be exposed more then 20 minutes, Wear a sunscreen all over the arms, neck and chest especially as these areas are easily sun damaged.

Sunscreens generally fall into two categories; that is they are either organic or inorganic. Physical or Chemical based. Usually the inorganic sunscreens have a chemical base.

The organic ones do away with the chemicals and are produced with and contain more natural products.

Organic sun block however does not mean it is naturally produced. It will contain a wide range of natural products that aide with the benefits of sun protection. Organic Sunscreen is usually absorbed very quickly into the skin and offers great sun protection. The protection it offers is usually done with the use of natural herbs, plants and minerals.

The popular mineral that is found in many of these natural lotions is micronized zinc oxide, which is the non-whitening version and is non toxic. It is able to block and deflect the harmful effects of the sun. This makes it the perfect product to be used in this sun protection product.

Organic sunscreen also sometimes contain other products such as Titanium dioxide and PABA (para amino benzoic acid).

The decision to actually sell this sunscreen on this site came about in a process. Over the years I have had a hard time finding a good natural sunscreen to offer my facial clients.

Most of the organic, natural ones were either too greasy, or would go rancid too easily. I knew it couldn't be too heavy, or it would not please my customers. Many of the others were just too darn pricey!
