Skin Rejuvenation Plan with Holistic Living
What does holistic actually mean? I know that there are some of us out there that really don’t know what it means. Holistic Lifestyle.
To me it means to embrace all aspects of being human and hold them all in a beautiful balancing act. Yes, it can be a struggle, like juggling it takes will power and some being real present. Holistic skin care = healthy skin from the inside out.
I see the skin as a pie or the wheel. We all have many areas of our life’s that if not kept in balance throws the whole system off.
What will get us out on those spokes is everything in excess unfortunately for those of us that love to indulge, me being one that loves my Mexican food! Any thing can do it from fast foods, too much coffee, alcohol, to shallow breathing, lack of sleep & exercise, chemicals in our foods and products, no supplementation, negative thoughts, hormone imbalances, reckless emotions, coupled with a SAD diet. (Standard American diet) we can easily fall into a spoke on our wheel and lose balance for what can seem like an eternity before regaining our center again. You get the picture of what throws off a healthy body, skin and mind. So how to get it all back on track is what healthy skin is all about.
Conventional information tells us to brace ourselves as we hit about 50ish, get ready for your looks to go downhill and your skin to head south.
Cosmetic companies make billions of dollars off the fear of aging skin, with new anti-aging products and topical “miracle” creams launched every year. From my own experience and that of my clients, these products mostly wind up half empty and jammed in the back of the cabinet.
Nevertheless, beneath all that marketing hype there has been an authentic leap forward in our understanding of what causes skin to age, and it centers on inflammation.
This is good news! It means our skin really can look better than ever — no matter how old we are — once we recognize that what happens on the inside, on both a physical and emotional front, truly does show up on the outside. That’s because the aging we see in our skin is biological, not chronological, and can be delayed or even reversed with a holistic, natural approach that includes optimal diet, lifestyle and product choices.
This approach to healthy skin works for other bothersome conditions, too, like acne, rosacea, and dermatitis. Whereas conventional medicine turns first to antibiotics, acids, retinol and steroid creams to treat the symptoms of these conditions, this approach helps resolve them by addressing the core cause —
In a holistic viewpoint we see the results of this inside-out approach every day in my own skin and of some of my clients that have applied some of these principles— skin that grows younger and more vibrant each day. And all of ours can too… the solution relies upon what we put in our body and what we put on our skin, our thoughts, and our attitudes most of all.
Here are some of the guidelines to follow when evaluating products for your rejuvenation plan :
• Only plant based and mineral ingredients must be used whenever possible. No plant or minerals ingredients should ever be used from an endangered source. No irradiation of plants at all. No synthetic coloring agents or fragrances, or paraffin and other petroleum products should ever go on your skin.
• Plant ingredients must be organic, or biodynamic wherever possible. Ingredients should be sourced in the following order of priority: organically grown, wild-crafted, and lastly conventionally grown plant ingredients as long as they do not contain any genetically modified ingredients.
• Preservatives derived from synthetic sources should not be permitted. Propylene glycol, Parabens (propyl, methyl and ethyl) .and other synthetic preservatives. Preservatives must be derived from natural sources. In cases where the source is natural, but the treatment process involves the use of synthetics, the final ingredient is considered a derivative. All derivatives (including preservatives) should carefully considered.
• No ingredients derived from animals should be used with the exception of: beeswax, bee pollen, propolis, honey, royal jelly, which are considered acceptable as they do not harm the animal. No animal testing on ingredients contained in products or on the products by the company or on behalf of the company is permitted.
• Manufacturers should guarantee that to the best of their knowledge no genetically modified ingredients are used in the products, and every reasonable effort is taken to verify with its suppliers that raw materials are not produced from GMO seed stock.
• Manufacturers should track origin of ingredients to ensure quality of ingredients.
• Manufacturers should have an environmental based mission or company philosophy.
• Manufacturers should use recyclable and environmentally friendly packaging wherever possible.
Rejuvenating your skin is about awareness. We tend to forget to nurture and put conscious energy into creating the face that we desire.
I fully believe the face and skin is malleable and flexible, it changes as we do. We can have luminous alive, beautiful skin at any age, with a little TLC, good healthy, pure, organic skin care products and consciousness.
This way of treating your face is effective in treating lines, wrinkles, sagging, puffiness & other certain common skin conditions such as actinic, sun damaged, tired, and stressed out skin.
First comes a thorough, honest evaluation of your skin right now. Where has it gone south? Where have things gotten set from patterns of squinting, frowning, and concentrating in ways that make a face you don’t care for the look of.
Is it dehydrated? Congested? Broken out in places? Do you have signs of rosacea?
So how to change it after all these years? Awareness! Loving your skin & having a great time with your skin care routine, and putting a little time and consciousness behind it really helps.
A thorough cleansing remains the all-important first step of any skin care regimen. Make-up, dirt and environmental pollutants can clog pores and lessen the effectiveness of topical nutrients and exfoliants, so it is critical to thoroughly remove make-up and impurities every night before going to bed.
The goal is to keep skin in a soft and supple state at all times. That is why I am in love with honey in my products. It is a humectant that holds moisture in the skin. My motto is Moisture! Moisture! Moisture! Oils and water.
We all need lots of filtered water and tons of healthy oils on our bodies and taken internally as well. Hydration and facelift massage with a daily cleansing stimulates blood circulation, which in turn improves both the texture and color of the skin.
The Chinese discovered that by pressing certain acupressure points on the face, there was a greater flow of blood and oxygen to the facial area, which promoted a release of tension, a softening of lines, and toning and tightening of sagging skin, among other health-related benefits.
Try a Face Lift treatment on yourself everyday for a truly remarkable difference in just a month. This Facelift Massage combines cleansing, moisturizing and energizing steps.
The energizing step is the use of acupressure. This technique works with the surface and deep facial tissues and meridians. This balances the condition of the skin and the psychological conditions, and balances and harmonies the condition of the internal organs. The energizing stage assists in producing a natural face-lift without using acupuncture.
The Holistic Facelift can produce significant results if done with regularity.
Health and longevity has been considered an overall reflection of an optimal balance of physical, psychological, and spiritual health brought into harmony.
The Holistic Facelift with Acupressure is a time-tested, proven technique that offers anti-aging. The facial muscles are toned and tightened and the skin softened.
How the Holistic Facelift Works - Make it a part of your skin rejuvenation plan
The face has a complex muscular structure. Each facial muscle is constantly busy performing a multitude of movements.
Consider the full range of emotions, movements and expressions your face makes every day.
Even as you dream your facial muscles are working. When facial muscles are massaged and exercised regularly, all the metabolic processes are stimulated, which means facial circulation is improved, capillaries are strengthened, the facial lymph system is cleansed and the skin becomes blemish-free.
Whatever your skin type, it will respond to facial massage positively, because massage keeps the collagen and elastin fibers wet and warm which encourages and stimulates their growth.
With each facelift massage, the toning benefits increase because muscles have memory. If you are not doing this massage at home regularly, I encourage you to get regular facials every couple of weeks or so.
The Holistic Facelift Treatment
The treatment consists of first cleansing and exfoliating the face of dirt and makeup. Once the face is prepared, an active massage begins. The stimulating effects of activated fingers force the blood to activate the skin’s surface, promoting circulation, detoxification and relaxation.
Energizing effects can be achieved by massaging facial acupressure points. These points relate to energy flowing through the body, which is often blocked by stress, illness or toxins. Massaging these points frees blocked energy, increases the flow of oxygen and reduces stress and tension in the face.
The next step is the hypnosis techniques to be incorporated into your daily thoughts and affirmations.
Self hypnosis can be pretty simple stuff. Just sit and relax or lay down if you will not dose off. Image a time when you where at your most optimum health and body form.
I usually go back to about 18 years old, because it was before I gained weight and looked great still, and felt really beautiful then. So go to that age. And begin to imagine that feeling, feel your skin, your tight muscles and all those good feelings that go with feeling this good about yourself.
Practice doing this process for at least 5-10 minutes everyday before going to sleep. You are re-programming yourself by doing this. Of course this all goes together with the lifestyle changes of holding the space of Ageless Beauty in your consciousness.
Next I want to offer the face massage technique, it is also pretty simple.
Let’s begin and describe what that looks like: Working up each meridian channels with a light rotating circle. Do both sides together and then up the middle.
Next begin a light massaging and working the areas with a light application of coconut, sesame or other light facial oil. Do this for at least 5 minutes working around the mouth and eyes lightly with oil to smooth out fine lines.
This is done with firm intention that the energy in your finger tips is ironing out lines and sending healing, soothing light through the channels to awaken and renew the skin. Our body works according to a blueprint provided by nature; nevertheless the number of years we live on this planet depends largely on our daily attitude towards our body’s maintenance.
We do not want to age and watch new wrinkles showing up on our body and face with resentment. Not many of us fully realize that the image in the mirror is a reflection of our lifestyle. No matter how much we try to cover up our aging with expensive creams and cosmetics, the real condition of our body still becomes apparent.
Wrinkles, skin spots, the brightness of our eyes and the shine of our hair, the condition of our nails, and the way we walk reflect the condition of our internal organs. Everything that is happening inside our body manifests itself clearly on the outside.
People who live long in different parts of the world explain their longevity by good physical condition and deep, cleansing breathing. It has been proven that we can extend our age by 10-20 years by a healthy diet; however, correct breathing can help extend it by 30-40 years.
Correct breathing is the assurance of good health and longevity. So let’s start those nice deep cleansing breathes right now, and breathe out all the thoughts, concerns and worries of the day, leaving it all behind each night before going to bed sit and deep breathe at least 5 minutes. During the day remember at set intervals to fill the lungs to capacity and hold a few seconds, and practice getting better at this deep inhalation process.
Start here and then go to the 'green cuisine' section for more information about a healthier diet, which is imperative in any skin rejuvenation plan.
