Solar Power is Hot

WE LOVE THE SUN!!

Solar powered everything, with solar energy, is the way of the future.

Sun Power is our biggest friend and our greatest foe- we cannot live without the Sun, yet it can be scorching to our very core! The Sun can ruin our complexion can burn us up alive in the desert, can give us life, warmth and power. One the other hand it can completely devastate planet Earth in about 8 minutes.

We need to respect the Sun in all ways, without it we are frozen solid, with too much we are toast! It is smart to become aware of it's potential harmful effects as well as the Solar power it offers.

Think how it ages the skin, causes dehydration and sunburn. Many are not aware of what could happen from intense Coronal Mass Ejections called, which could hit the Earth. If CME's are active they can be responsible for triggering large, geomagnetic storms when they encounter the Earth's magnetosphere. They can destroy all electrical items...including computers (EMF's). The intense power of 'Sun Energy' is something to be aware of for all of us humans.

Learn about our Sun as much as you can -become educated about our biggest Star, the one that has the greatest mass in this galaxy.

When it comes to Natural 'Green' energy however, our Sun is the Source of much untapped power yet to come. Our very own Solar Star is the True Star of the show, The ONE we absolutely depend on.

All life on the planet revolves around it literally! We could say the Sun is the MAIN Thing, the Main attraction of the Greening of the Planet! It truly is the Source of life on this earth.

The Sun God was the number One GOD of this Earth with many ancient cultures since the beginning of time. I guess we need to pay close attention to this Star, our Solar Father.

So what does the SUN really mean for us? What is Solar Energy and what are the latest ways of harnessing it- It should be free energy for everybody. Why is is so pricey? Shouldn't we all be using Solar energy in this time on the Planet?

What is solar energy?

How can we all use the power of the sun inexpensively?

Solar Energy gives us Life, our bodies need it, but we need to use it correctly.

How can the Sun be our greatest ally in the changing world?

First, wear a good sunscreen, before we even get started! How can I Protect my skin from the sun naturally?

Now, let's figure out how we can make the best use of the Sun.

Isn't getting Solar really expensive?

Does the government offer any help on solar energy for homes-assisting people who want to 'go green'and get solar but are short on green in their wallets?

Are there any government grants or tax rebates - either federal, state or local - that would allow me to afford the installation and costs of using solar energy on my home?

solar panel There are new Solar technologies being invented everyday. We have solar water heaters that work great if you have the sun power to get keep them running.

Soon we will have solar paint to collect Sun energy. Until then we have to rely on the collectors available today.

The average home solar system can cost anywhere from $30,000 to $100,000, with the price varying widely depending on size, capacity and other factors.

That's a large chunk of change for most Americans, though several rebates do exist to lessen the financial burden. Also, solar panels immediately start to reduce power bills.

As part of the recent government stimulus package, homeowners can receive a tax credit for up to 30 percent of the price of a solar energy for homes.

If the price tag for a whole solar system is too much - even with the rebates - some industry experts recommend a solar thermal system, which heats water using the sun's power and circulates it throughout a home. The average price is anywhere from $6,500 to $10,000, and the federal government has a 30 percent rebate for that as well.

This remarkable solar collection facility with the rather unremarkable name – the PS20 – passed its initial trial run with flying colors, surpassing expectations in power production. Located near the ancient city of Seville, it is now the second such tower collector in commercial use.

Abengoa Solar operates the new plant, which has a power capacity of 20 megawatts, enough juice to power about 10,000 homes.

The plant uses 1,255 heliostats (motorized mirrors) to reflect sunshine onto a fixed focal point. The heliostats follow the sun’s path throughout the day to catch maximum rays. Like a legion of faithful followers, the mirrors face upward and pay tribute to the towering idol in their midst. That would be the 531 foot tall collection tower, the object of their reflection.

With a surface area of 1,291 square feet each, the massive mirrors working together focus over a million and a half effective square feet of sunlight on the apex of the tower. It gets hot. Very hot. That heat energy can be used to boil steam to turn turbines, or stored for later use.

Concentrating solar power (CSP) is poised to take the solar industry by storm, offering all the benefits traditionally ascribed to solar – clean, renewable, etc. – with the potential to kick its biggest drawback to the curb.

What to do when the sun’s not shining has forever been solar power’s nemesis. While we can’t alter the sun’s behavior, we can store its power for later use. Electrical batteries have offered somewhat of a solution toward this end, but they are expensive, tough on the environment and impractical for utility-scale power storage.
